Reflection Blog
Making my project was pretty simple, it just took a long time because I was trying to make all the clips look nice. Last minute I changed up a lot of things, after I turned in all of the production blogs was when I changed my mind on what was going to be in my project. Therefore, a lot that is in my commercial doesn't match up with my production blog. I asked myself some questions to be able to reflect on my project. Question #1: What do I think I can do to make the next project better? To make the next project better, I'll use better clips and make the edits run a little more smoothly. Perhaps, I'll even add more effects so that the project can seem more well-organized. I will also not wait to do it at the last minute. I'll start working, editing, and putting together my project at least a week before. This is so I can make all the tweaks and notice all the mistakes with all the time I need. Doing this will also help my project look better and neater, it's better to not rush to make projects turn out finer. I will also try to find more videos shot from better angles to put in my project. It was very hard to find clips that showed what I needed it to. Question #2: What did I learn about the process of putting a project together? I learned that is is best to not wait until last minute and start the process when there is still a lot of time left. If you wait until last minute and rush, the project will not come out like how you want it to. I also learned that it is best to look at other examples of the project. Perhaps you could search up some or ask your friends. I waited until last minute to do this which means at the last minute almost every single thing I had planned for my project and the things I already did were changed. This is a frustrating feeling because everything you worked on gets thrown away. It is also best to use a editing app you are familiar app. I already knew this which is why I chose video star to edit on. I've been using the app for years, so it was easy for me to figure out how to put the project together and make it look nice. Question #3: What was challenging in the process of putting my process together? Managing my time was very challenging. I get distracted easily, so to put my whole project together in one sitting took me three hours. I had other homework to do and it was the day the project was due, so this had me stressing out. This adds to one of the reasons why it is better to not start projects at the last minute. Another thing I struggled with was finding videos and pictures of myself that would go with the theme of my project. It took me about an hour just to find all the right clips to put in my project. At the last minute, I realized that the part of the song I chose didn't match me at all, it's just one of my favorite songs. I was panicking because I didn't know if the song HAD to describe you. I couldn't change it because it was already too late. But in the end, I liked how everything turned out. There was ups and downs in making this project, but the results satisfied me very much.
