Production Blog: Changing Things Up

Image
Welcome back, bloggers. As you previously know, I recently received feedback from a friend of mine for my final task. I took this feedback into serious consideration and got to changing and fixing the mistakes I made. Firstly, I made the music of the opening sequence a little higher. I made the sound the perfect amount of loudness, the talking of the actors and the sound is both heard. A bit of sound effects were added to match what was going on in the scene. Roselyn also mentioned that the scenes had extra things that weren't needed which was dragging the length of the scene. So, my group and I reviewed all the scenes and cut parts that weren't needed. This made the whole opening sequence the perfect amount of minutes, not too short or not too long. Thanks to Roselyn, my group and I were able to solve that mistake of the scenes being too long. If the scenes were too long our opening sequence could've been the wrong amount of minutes, affecting our grade on the final task.

Editing Blog: Reasons why I'm Not Editing.

Image
Hi blog, I am back! Today, I am going to write about why I'm not doing most of the editing for the final task. First of all, I already edited the first three clips. This took a very long time for me because I was a little confused. Also, even if I wanted to edit, I quite literally have no time. I have so much work from other classes and have no time to edit. My groupmates love to edit, so they decided to anyways. I did a fair share of contribution to the other work. I did half of the storyboard, half of the script, and I helped with production blogs. I also did acting and filming. I did a lot of work for this final task, so it's not like I didn't do anything at all. I also chose the music for the final task. I contributed to the pitch of the final task, and most of the filming took place at my house. I'm highly grateful for my group mates who also contributed a lot and are also editing for the final task. They decided to edit, and I have no problem with that. If my gr

Production Blog: Peer Review

Hey blog, it's been a while! But, I'm back with an update on the process of our final task. As I mentioned in one of the previous blogs, the filming is done with. Since I already did my portion of the editing, I decided to get on with the peer review portion. I had someone that I am familiar with to watch my group and I films and give us her honest critiques, her name is Roselyn. Once Roselyn watched my film, she was was fascinated, but had a few recommendations. The first thing Roselyn mentioned is that the music is too low. I had already suspected, but I got the confirmation I needed to make the music of the video higher. The next thing she pointed out was that the one of the scenes were a little too long. Luckily, Roselyn pointed this out and helped my realize. At first, I did not see how the scene was too long but Roselyn helped me notice the mistake. This is an easy fix and I will make sure to fix it in no time. Roselyn pointed out that the camera quality changed. She did

Editing Blog: Editing a few clips

Hey blog, it's me again! I'm here today to inform you that the editing process has begun. Yesterday, the filming process was done. I am so eager to begin editing. I'm moving more and more forward with this final task by the day, which is what is ideal for me. I am not supposed to be the one editing, so I only edited three scenes. There is a editor of the group, which is not me. I was mostly in charged of filming and acting. Editing is not a strong suit of mine, but luckily it is for the editor of the group. To start with, I put scene one, scene two, and scene three together. For the first scene it took me about 15 minutes to add the effects. All I did was add a fade out effect on video star. I also added a phone ringing sound effect. However, I don't know if I like it yet there is a possible chance of me removing it. For the second scene, I jsut cut the end of the clip because it was too long and didn't follow with the script. In no time, I was done with the secon

Filming Blog: Wrapping it up!

Hey bloggers, exciting day today! I finally finished with filming. Today, the last three scenes were filmed. These three scenes were filmed in no time. In about 40 minutes, we were done with the three scenes. Surprisingly, I started behind schedule but finished earlier than I was supposed to. For scene 14, I was the one filming. Since I've already filmed around 5 scenes, I've gotten way better, and can film a quick scene in one try. For this scene, I had to get a specific a medium long shot and a zoom in type of effect. I thought filming this scene would be hard, but in reality it wasn't at all. The 15th scene took almost NO time at all. In about 13 minutes, this scene was finished. None of us messed up and quickly I got to the 16th scene took the most effort. I had to do a loud scream for this scene which took three tries. However, if I would mess up I would quickly try again until I got the perfect type of scream. This was hard for me because sometimes my scream would be
