Research and Planning Blog

The whole planning part of choosing my pictures consisted of searching for old pictures of me on major events of my life when I was younger. It took me a long time to find the right pictures. In the span of two hours I was able to find 4 pictures and 1 video that I want to choose. The reason I only choose childhood photos is because I do not take pictures of me currently, most of the time when someone wants to take a picture of me I say no. The very few pictures that I do have I don't like how I look in them, I'm not photogenic at all. The first picture I chose was on my very first halloween. Halloween is a holiday that I find very enjoyable. The fact that it is during fall is just one of the the advantages. Halloween is a day where you can be creative and dress as anything you want, the whole idea of coming up with a costume idea is simply the best. Coming to school and seeing people dressed up, going out at night with your friends on Halloween, knowing that Thanksgiving and Christmas is coming soon is simply just the best. The second picture I chose is me on the first day of kindergarten. I feel like the first day of kindergarten is an incredibly important, exciting, and emotional day for parents and children. Some may even say it is the most important day of childhood, which I agree with because starting school is a great milestone in one's life. The third photo I chose was at my baptism. I chose this photo because in my family, getting baptized is a major event. I believe in God, I'm not highly religious but I take things about God serious, so I'm glad I got baptized when I was younger. The fourth photo I chose was my birthday party for when I turned 1 years old. Every birthday is important whether it's your 1st birthday, 10th birthday, 19th birthday, no matter how old you turn each age is a very special. Being able to celebrate another year of being alive is something anyone should be grateful for. A lot of people don't like celebrating their birthday with big parties as neither as do I, but I still remember to always be thankful to be able to be alive for yet another year. Others like having celebrations and big parties which is great, the most important thing about birthdays is remembering, acknowledging, and appreciating your life and being born. The fifth thing that I chose was a video, this isn't anything important like a milestone, but it is a video that can bring out a laugh. But, it does show the long way I have came with speaking english. English wasn't my first language, and in that video I was around 6 years old when I was still learning, and I didn't make a lot of sense and was just saying random things which is what makes it so enjoyable to watch. I even mention two girls that I'm still friends with to this day, which I find bittersweet. I know some people would've found sharing the video embarrassing if it was them, but I don't because I was a little kid, every kid did dumb things when they were younger, especially me, and looking back at the silly things I did as a child in pictures/videos makes me laugh. The song I chose is "Rolling Stone" by Brent Faiyaz, the clean version. This song doesn't describe me or anything, but it is one of my favorite songs. There is also a line that stands out to me very much in this song, it goes like "people hate me and they love me at the same time", I feel like a lot of people can relate to that line. It might not make sense, but for the people who feel like that line is relatable, they'll understand. I like everything about this song: the beat, the lyrics, the artist singing etc.
