Production Blog: Getting Myself Recorded for Fourth and Fifth Scenes.

 

Today, I went to the mall with my friend so I could get filmed for the music video. This was the fourth scene of the music video. In this scene, it is shown that I'm looking at everyone walking around the mall. A face of despair comes on my face as I look at everyone else then at myself. To show this, I start covering myself to demonstrate how I feel like nothing compared to the other girls at the mall. This just adds on to my insecurities because in the music video it is already shown that girls like myself are going through the same thing. Other girls like myself compare ourselves to others. Each scene that is filmed for the music video adds to the meaning and story behind the whole video. This scene that was recorded of me also shows me opening up my camera to look at myself after seeing everyone else. Opening up my camera just makes me feel worse about myself. I look at my face and then think of all the other faces I saw walking past me. To me, I am nothing compared to them. My friend who is recording me makes sure to get clips of me that demonstrate that idea in some type of way. For the fifth scene, I go to the beach. While everyone else is at the beach with their bathing suits on, I am at the beach covered in clothing. A medium long shot shows me in clothing that aren't too revealing. I'm not in the right attire for the beach. I wanted to film this scene to show that I was too insecure to wear a bathing suit. Seeing everyone feeling confident and having fun with their two piece bathing suits just made me feel worse. While filming this scene, I made sure to show me looking around at everyone. Today was the perfect day to film these two scenes because I had no homework, it was all completed during class time or throughout the beginning of the week. So, I took the opportunities to film the two scenes I felt like were the most complicated to film. The two places I went to are very close to each other so the transportation wasn't complicated at all, and didn't take much time.
